MacOS Catalina and Teams Screen Sharing

I updated to MacOS Catalina and now I cannot share my app screens. I can share my desktop, but that is all others can see.

My system had an entry (unchecked) for Microsoft teams. I think it asked me as I was launching but I blew by it. Not sure how you'd add it if it's not there. You just have to turn it on, and Teams screen sharing will work.

    I have come across this issue as well in Catalina with latest patches for both Teams and Mac OSX. It did not matter if Teams was in full screen or window. I also checked https://benstegink.com/microsoft-teams-and-macos-catalina-10-15-broken-screen-sharing/ but have no apps beyond Office that could cause this issue.

    My workaround: Open a meeting group or a user you want to share to, but don't join the video/audio. Press the "share screen" and it will show "connecting" for a while. Stop the connection. Join the call or video, then share. The share screen option now should be available.

    Hi,

    I could also confirm that when you make the TEAMS in the windowed mode (i.e you should see the top menu as this). 

    This mode allows to share your screen.

    (WORKING WINDOWED MODE)

    I have Catalina 10.15.2

    I have MS Teams 1.2.00.34155

    I tried the method of checking the box and unchecking, restarting Teams, rebooting, etc., and nothing is working.

    I can share PowerPoint files, the whiteboard apps, and browse for other file types but it says these file types (e.g., PDF) aren't supported.

    My colleagues on PC can share all file types with no issue though.

    It is the MS TEAMS APP that doesn't work w/ Catalina.....therefore...it would be the APP developers responsibility to fix their buggy mess.....and the APP developer would be???? YUP! It's  MS 

    YOU can SUCCESSFULLY share your screen using teams in a web browser!

    I think they purposely try not to support Apple products in hopes they can woo more people to the buggy mess known as MS Office
