I updated to MacOS Catalina and now I cannot share my app screens. I can share my desktop, but that is all others can see.

Found it.

System Preferences

Screen Recording

My system had an entry (unchecked) for Microsoft teams. I think it asked me as I was launching but I blew by it. Not sure how you'd add it if it's not there. You just have to turn it on, and Teams screen sharing will work.

This solved the issue for me too. I would never have found that out myself as I am using TEAMS in full screen usually...

Same here -- always run in fullscreen, but sharing works in not-fullscreen. That is strange, but at least I have a workaround.

Re-installing solved the issue in my case.

    Hi Peter,

The steps from my company IT:

    System Preferences

    Security & Privacy

    Accessibility - add Microsoft Teams

    This should work.

same session - just go to full screen and it works, go back to windowed mode and it stops working...

Thanks a lot for all this information - it works for me, too - just wanted to share the following interesting insights:

When you start the session (in full-screen-mode - because it won't work otherwise - see above) you can then

    a) switch between desktops and everything works fine!

    b) you can even go back to the window-mode of MS Teams...

You only need to have teams in the full-screen mode to START the screen-sharing session....at least, so it seems...

    Very interesting bug...

Did work for me once, but is not a consistent behavior either. So far looking at all the responses this is completely random.

    • Closing other applications work for some, but completely random on which other app is the culprit.
    • Working in Fullscreen works for some, but not others.
    • Using Teams on the Web in Chrome did work for me.
