Hi,

2 errors that appear to be related to a new team/channel being created.

When creating a new team, we can no longer get the email address nor change the picture.

No issues with previously created teams/channels.

Confirmed:

  • Waited for 3 days
  • Error occurs on App and Web versions
  • App is on latest version
  • Error occurs on both Windows and Mac

Seeing the comments now. If my recommendations don't work, then all you can do is reach out to Microsoft support. Don't think there is anything you can do to fix this yourself, unfortunately. Make sure to share links to this thread and/or the one in the TechCommunity forum and explain what you already have tried. What I understand is that this feature relies on the connected SharePoint site and I was able to fix it every time by simply navigating to the site or uploading files which both provision the site if it's not provisioned already.

OK. Your suggestion didn't work as, clicking on files generated the following error in the client and web page.

Show details has the following error:

Exception encountered from Sharepoint for requestId f3eac39e-8038-8000-e642-900ecfd7e538 Scenario ID: 351

I have set the team from private to public, waited several hours and confirmed it in the client, and set it back. This did nothing.

This team was generated from a SharePoint site, which exists and, both the site and team, have been around for well over 12 months now, as has the issue of not being able to "Get email address" for any of the channels. The only thing to note is that the user who created the site and team are no longer employed here. 30 teams that I created this morning have no problems.

As a global admin, I can see the email associated with the distribution list.

The workaround of going to the affected channel to upload files to the channel doesn't solve the "couldn't get the email address of this channel" issue.

    Hello,

I am having the same issue on our tenant. I have read most threads on the subject and tested several workarounds without finding a resolution.

Could explain what you mean by "**navigate to the connected Team site or upload files to provision it."?

Are you referring to the Sharepoint Site? (I tried that, without success)

    Thanks for your help,

    M.

    Please check the following thread:https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Get-Email-address-for-a-new-created-team/m-p/202770#M14516

    Why this happens:

The get email feature needs the connected Team site. The connected Team site isn't always provisioned, while this should happen automatically.

    Workaround:

Simply navigate to the connected Team site or upload files to provision it. The get email address feature will start working.

    What to do next?

****Microsoft can reproduce it. I was able to reproduce it today by creating a trial tenant, first try. You might have to create many Microsoft Teams environments to reproduce it in your tenant. I'm not sending more logs as they have all the info they need to investigate this and work on a fix.
