Bluetooth Headset not working with teams.

I have a pair of Bluetooth Skullcandy Hesh 3 Headphones, and they have 2 connections with my laptop.

1)Hesh 3 Stereo

2)Hesh 3 Hands-Free AG Audio

When I use Hands free AG Audio, there is some static disturbance. When watching videos, stereo option gives great sound quality but for some reason it doesn't give any sound during a meeting in teams. In device settings during a meeting, once I choose Hesh 3 Stereo, the voice just stops.

Ive spent so much time trying to figure this out. Luckily I have an IT friend and after 3 days of trying I can finally hear my company calls again with my bluetooth headphones. To fix this, you need to be in a teams call. You will not be able to hear anyone obviously but once are you in a call and the sound has cut off.

    Go to bluetooth and devices

scroll down under related setting click on more devices and printer setttings.

It will then bring up a screen with your devices.

    Click on your bluetooth headphones.

    Click on the services tab.

Unselect (remove checkmark) from handsfree telephony.

    Hit apply and ok

Your teams will now have sound!

I saw this fix but it did not work for me but I tried it as a last resort while in a teams call and that is what got me over the hump. YOU HAVE TO BE IN A TEAMS CALL FOR IT TO WORK

    Thank you!

I was struggling with my Momentum 4's and this worked for me! That requirement that you're already in a team call is KEY here.

I have WH-1000XM4, but I can't find any devices with "Hands Free" in the name.

    I have under Bluetooth:

    WH-1000XM4

    WH-1000XM4 Avrcp Transport

I have under Sound, Video and Game Controllers:

    WH-1000XM4 Stereo

Later edit: I might be incredibly stupid, this was the issue for me:

Apparently there is a hidden volume meter called "Main volume" which you can't see from the sounds icon on the taskbar and can only see from the headset properties. Mine was muted, for a reason that eludes me. Once I unmuted, sound started working in Teams again via BT Headset.

My setup worked fine for quite long before breaking down again after Teams and/or Windows updated themselves last on 2023/06/26.

    Teams updated to

    • 1.6.00.16472 (64-bit)

    Windows updated to

    • KB5027215 (OS Builds 19044.3086 and 19045.3086)
    • KB5027538 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2

Issue still only with Teams for Windows desktop version.

Similar problem now in 2022 as 2 years ago. My headset works fine with all other applications, but on team it does not work if I use the headset with mic enabled. I have to use laptop mic and choose the stereo option only. After the most recent Teams update it got worse. The Bluetooth LE emulator needs to be disabled on device settings for Teams audio, but after doing that the quality is worse... at least there is sound.

lol I can't believe this is still an issue after 2 years

I have the problem also. My Sennheiser BT 4.50 headphones no longer work in teams.. they have been working the last few years without issue, but suddenly they no longer work. I have a plantronics bluetooth headset which do work though.

My main headset (the BT 4.50's) are used for everything & i have no issue using them with any application or device, other than Teams & this has only started occurring the last few weeks. Maybe a dumb update broke things?

    It's a frustrating one
