Bluetooth Headset not working with teams.

I have a pair of Bluetooth Skullcandy Hesh 3 Headphones, and they have 2 connections with my laptop.

1)Hesh 3 Stereo

2)Hesh 3 Hands-Free AG Audio

When I use Hands free AG Audio, there is some static disturbance. When watching videos, stereo option gives great sound quality but for some reason it doesn't give any sound during a meeting in teams. In device settings during a meeting, once I choose Hesh 3 Stereo, the voice just stops.

Hopefully good news for all of us: Microsoft announced that the Windows 10 21H2 update will have some major bluetooth improvements.

In the latest preview builds, we’ve seen at least two big changes. The first new feature is a unified audio endpoint, which means your Bluetooth headset’s voice and mic will finally work properly without switching between the two endpoints (voice and mic) manually.

After the feature update, you will only see one audio endpoint when you click on the audio icon pinned to the taskbar. This means you don’t have to click through multiple audio endpoints to use voice and mic at the same time. To facilitate this feature, Microsoft will automatically switch to the correct audio endpoint.

Lets hope for the best. I believe it when I see it.
Microsoft / Windows / Teams has just really really terrible Bluetooth performance - period.

We can see the latest 20H2 update already removed BT LE component (perhaps by renaming :P), but still, there are two endpoints for my headset.  I haven't had a chance to test if it worked better, perhaps it's still a work in progress.

I wonder how those "Teams certified" headsets work in this case (https://www.microsoft.com/en-ww/microsoft-teams/across-devices/devices).  Do they work flawlessly?

    This worked for me...

    1. Unpair headset
    2. Right-click start menu and open Device Manager
    3. Expand Bluetooth
    4. Right-click Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator and disable. It will give you a warning about devices not working. Unless you have devices that require Bluetooth low energy, it will be okay. Leave the other one (without LE) enabled.
    5. Pair your headset
    6. Enjoy

    This absolutely worked for me.

Up until mid call today, I have been using a Sony WH-CH700N wireless NC headset with no problems for over a year on Teams, Webex, Zoom with my Win10 Toshiba Satellite.  We primarily use Teams and during a call today, I received a recurring pop-up saying my speakers were no longer working which would resolve itself in about 5 seconds on its own but forcing my headset to disconnect and reconnect to BT.  During a later call, I received a pop-up saying my microphone was no longer working.  I unpaired and repaired the headset but Teams would only recognize the speakers - not the microphone.  This did not resolve itself and I followed the procedure above. Headset now works as it did before.

I should add that when re-pairing, this is the first time I have ever seen two device to pair - WH-CH700N and then an LE-WH-CH700N.  Always only ever saw the non-LE version.

Hi, in this case (settings not saved), I would try performing a chkdsk first.

Open a CMD window with admin privileges, then use "chkdsk /f" to scan and fix disk errors.

Reboot and check "event viewer" to look for the latest "wininit" entry from Windows application logs, this is to confirm chkdsk actually finished its jobs.

Then update the BT drivers by starting with the laptop manufacturer, then the chipset manufacturer.

If this won't fix the problem, I'm out of ideas.  Some people said it's related to BT chipset so you could buy an extra USB Bluetooth dongle (perhaps one using BT 3.0 ) that uses a different chipset.  But I was you I will just keep playing with the settings until I figure another way for my headset.

    Good luck

This fix works for almost everybody, but the only catch is that you won't be able to use your headset mic.

In Teams  Device settings, switch you speaker to 'Your Headset' Stereo

Then switch your mic to any other mic such as your laptops or your webcams.

Make sure you've also selected stereo from the bottom right like this:

Now you should be able to hear perfectly but without the mic of your headset.
