Export chat from a Teams meeting

Honestly I can't believe Microsoft has missed this feature. Obviously people will want to record their meetings and the results of them. In our meetings, people use the chat to share links, files, ask questions and we need to capture all of these components. When the meeting is an "info session" we have people not contained within a "channel" and therefore the features associated with channel meetings are not helpful. Being able to copy / paste (or better yet, export the chat content) should have been identified early on by Microsoft.

Thank you, I was able to do this in the Teams app (v 1.5.00.11157 for Mac).

It results in much useless information ("Profile picture of...") for every message. It is relatively easy to clean up using an advanced editor (SublimeText), but not so much in notepad.

It really would've been nice for MS to output a CSV or something that would make extracting the content much easier, but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting.

Doesn't copy pictures...

only semi-workable way i've found is to screen clip (shift + win + S), paste image into onenote, then right click on image and 'make image text searchable'.

bring back Lync. fully installed, it was the business.

all this stuff and more worked properly.

and the interface was much more useable.

and the conversations were shown in outlook.

teams really seems to be pretty noddy from a business point of view.

still no proper way to capture long chats? It seems that copy/paste (in different browsers or app) doesn't work unless you like to work in a stone-age-way-of-working. Nice product MS!
