TEAMS - mute by default when entering a meeting

Can you mute by default whenever you enter a TEAMS meeting? I know this option is available in WebEx, but can't seem to find it in the settings in TEAMS.

    Incredible that people have been asking for this feature for years, and competing software offers it, but Microsoft won't even respond to threads about it, much less add the feature.

    I may have found an "ok" workaround. Somehow currently Teams comes up with audio completely disabled (input and output). I have to click to enable it. Not the perfect solution but might be better than my coworker hearing me curse with the f-word when I spilled my coffee the other day. ;)
