TEAMS - mute by default when entering a meeting

The absence of this option is disappointing.

It's been years and over a thousand complaints about it's absence.

But Microsoft have done nothing.

Does anyone at Microsoft read these forums? If not, is there another forum in which we can raise this issue?

It's wild that after four years of requests this feature has not been implemented.

Very frustrating. I wonder how many people have had this directly affect their life and career because they thought they were muted.

I just ate a messy Big Mac and slurped a coke. No one said anything about it until I watched the recording. Whoops.

I guess no one is buying MS Office anymore as there are tonnes of free alternatives and they have had to cut their development budget.

I have worked in IT operations with over 23 years of experience. It amazes me that this discussion has been going on for 4 years back in 2020 where thousands of people using Teams is asking Microsoft for a default microphone option to set in the Teams audio settings that will allow them to join meetings auto muted. Microsoft should be able to add this update to their next Teams application update patch cycle. This should not be a difficult update to add in Teams that will satisfy thousands of users requesting this update. I was researching for this option when I came across this forum. Why do I need to manually mute each time I join a meeting? Adding a setting to auto mute is an ethical request that Microsoft should add to their Teams product improvements roadmap. Microsoft Teams project team please do the right thing to please the customer(s).
