TEAMS - mute by default when entering a meeting

Clearly, everyone needs to be able to set their own default behavior with respect to being muted (both for mic and headset).

I find Teams to be so frustrating in this regard. I join a meeting and not only is my mic muted, but my headset is also "muted."

Perhaps I can understand muting the microphone, but cutting off the audio is disruptive.

Teams seems such a long way from being a tool for communicating with people. It's slow and rife with functionality that doesn't seem to have been tested by people who are actually trying to use it.

For me, just the opposite. I hate joining a meeting and having both my mic muted and my audio off.

Clearly, we need to be able to set options that work for us - Teams gives us none of this.

Yet another example that Microsoft doesn't give a damn about its user base. This is a simple option they can add yet years later still nothing. Should one of the users actually find a way to make it default to muted, it's a sure bet that Microsoft will try to find a way to prevent it from happening just as they did with windows 11 and forcing users to create a Microsoft Account in order to install it. This is why I no longer use Microsoft products on my personal system.
