Can you mute by default whenever you enter a TEAMS meeting? I know this option is available in WebEx, but can't seem to find it in the settings in TEAMS.

+1 for me, as I have a tendency of Joining the meeting quickly and forgetting to mute.  It doesn't make total sense that voice starts 'open' rather than 'closed'.  As an example, if cybersecurity software failed 'open', we would all be in a ton of trouble.

    +1

Same complain. Just adding to the bulk.

I don't even have the msft teams application. When I join a teams meeting is because someone else invited me, and therefore I join right on time and from web.

The camera is evident. It's easy to notice your camera is on. Any other things in the form require to be read, which puts the load on the user.

    * In basic usability terms (I am not an expert by any means): it demands a greater cognitive load from the user to have to read the whole form every time they join.

    * Entering muted by default but making the mute evident (say a catchy button even though it breaks the design a bit), DEFINITELY requires less from the user. Even if the user doesn't already know she's muted, a catchy button will let them know.

In my specific use case, there's an extra load "I will have to remember" that I need to read the form the next time someone invites me to a teams.com meeting, instead of just joining.

This is a bug, you should always join a meeting muted by default

Indeed. Also should be a setting that can be put in Active Directory / Azure AD group policies.
We always have 3-4 people on meetings with 100+ people who join unmuted and kids scream or they are speaking with others in their room etc.

I agree this functionality is important.
