TEAMS - mute by default when entering a meeting

Can you mute by default whenever you enter a TEAMS meeting? I know this option is available in WebEx, but can't seem to find it in the settings in TEAMS.

    I agree with the need for individual control allowing me to choose whether to default audio and video to mute or unmute for all meetings rather than having to choose it every time I join. Maybe also include the "default" Microsoft rules for people that like that method.

    Even if I am joining a call with 1 other person, I would prefer that my mic be muted by default.

    At the very least make it a device preference.

    The Teams App on an iPhone is automatically Muted when I join a Meeting.

    Yet as everyone else mentioned, it is NOT Muted when joining a Meeting from a PC.

    Very annoying.

    Interesting that the iPhone App does it, but not the PC App.

    I guess the Apple guys who wrote the iPhone App thought things through better than the Microsoft guys who wrote the PC App.

    Hello Microsoft!!

    Please WAKE UP!! As everyone has pointed out this is an incredibly basic feature that all of your competitors have!

    It is inexcusable that you have not added this after 2+ years since this topic was raised!!!!

    What is wrong with you folks?

    How can you not offer such an obvious option!

    Allow us to MUTE the mic by default when we join a meeting or call! This is not rocket science!!
