Can you mute by default whenever you enter a TEAMS meeting? I know this option is available in WebEx, but can't seem to find it in the settings in TEAMS.

Agreed, would REALLY like to have the option of muting my mic by default instead of having to manually mute EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!

This happened to me just now, I was unmuted on joining the meeting and didn't realize it. It's embarrassing, to say the least. It's better to be muted and think you are unmuted than the other way around.

Please provide an option for users to customize this option based on their preference.

Original question posted Sept 22, 2020.....

This thread is discovered 1-2 times a week and that is only counting the people who take the time to leave a comment. I wonder how many more view-only before navigating away.

Does MS read these comments? I struggle to think of a more important, basic function in this current WFH climate.

Yes, without a doubt there should be a default setting in teams to "Mute on entry" yes/no. This is really a basic feature. Others have commented sometimes it does mute you, sometimes it does not. This should not be up to the application, it should be a user setting. With the new world we live in and the importance of remote working, this should really be considered a high priority request.

I realize some may end up talking to themselves if they are muted, then they can select to be unmuted as the default.
