Can you mute by default whenever you enter a TEAMS meeting? I know this option is available in WebEx, but can't seem to find it in the settings in TEAMS.

    No it has not changed.

Still the same issue and no reply from MicroSoft on it. It really is surprising they cant and/or don't feel the need to fix it.

The biggest problem is the animation in the screen.

I get a blue popup in the bottom corner saying a meeting has started, I click join meeting and a popup with settings appears. More often than not the microphone button shows as gray, I hit the join meeting button and it takes a minute for me to notice that my mic is not muted.... The mute mic button/switch has an animation on it that starts as 'off' then animates to the blue on position. So if you click through the setting popup quickly to join the meeting you assume mic is muted cause you didn't wait long enough for the animation to finish.

Seems like a lot of people have this issue. Every time a meeting starts all we hear is background noise from people in the office sitting around those on the call.

If everyone was muted by default we won't spend 5 minutes asking everyone to mute and trying to figure out who is sitting next to a xerox printing 100 books.

Hello, this seems to be a question different from the question we are discussing in this thread. I suggest you post a separate thread for it.

However, I was unable to understand what you were asking. When you post that new thread, I suggest trying to reword it so it is clearer.

I think that's a safe bet. Really makes you wonder why the Microsoft Community board even exists. Certainly not to resolve any product issues.

My guess is that no one from Microsoft moderates or reviews this forum. Or else wouldn't we see a product manager from Microsoft chime in at some point on this multi-year long thread?

I've decided to become more annoying and make new threads (maybe each week?) until this gets answered.
Unfortunately I've no connections to the company and don't know how else to get heard.
