Can you mute by default whenever you enter a TEAMS meeting? I know this option is available in WebEx, but can't seem to find it in the settings in TEAMS.

It's wild that after four years of requests this feature has not been implemented.

Very frustrating. I wonder how many people have had this directly affect their life and career because they thought they were muted.

Nicole Robles, a response would be great please!

Adding this here, in addition to the official request page:

It's 2024, Microsoft. Your new year's resolution should be to be AS good as Zoom. Push to talk (without having to enable developer options, scripts, and other ridiculous hacks) as well as mute on join should be at the top of your list. That is... if you even HOPE to compete with Zoom.

Clearly, everyone needs to be able to set their own default behavior with respect to being muted (both for mic and headset).

I find Teams to be so frustrating in this regard. I join a meeting and not only is my mic muted, but my headset is also "muted."

Perhaps I can understand muting the microphone, but cutting off the audio is disruptive.

Teams seems such a long way from being a tool for communicating with people. It's slow and rife with functionality that doesn't seem to have been tested by people who are actually trying to use it.
