TEAMS - mute by default when entering a meeting

Can you mute by default whenever you enter a TEAMS meeting? I know this option is available in WebEx, but can't seem to find it in the settings in TEAMS.

    I am still amazed that despite MS rolling out several Teams updates almost every month, this simple feature is yet a distant reality.

    I've also been filling out the MS Teams prompt for feedback within the app itself and linking to this thread.
    They want feedback yet also don't act on feedback they've been getting for years with thousands and thousands of views and hundreds of "I have the same question"?.....

    Can someone let me know if this is a feature yet. I just spoke to someone in the room after I opened a teams meeting and it didn't auto mute. Literally the whole team from my Dept in the state heard me. Why can Microsoft not allow this to be a default setting. Thank goodness what I said wasn't confidential.

    I agree with the need for individual control allowing me to choose whether to default audio and video to mute or unmute for all meetings rather than having to choose it every time I join. Maybe also include the "default" Microsoft rules for people that like that method.

    +1 for this feature. Ridiculous that this isn't a feature. Grade school level of app design.
