TEAMS - mute by default when entering a meeting

Still this is not the same as default setting -> if there are many participants it defaults you to mute, but in case there are just few participants it by default sets to "not muted". Which may be inconvinient for some users. I would prefer to always be muted when joining. There is no such option at the moment....

I would like to go into Teams settings for my user account, and set a preference that I always join a call on audio and video mute. No matter what, no matter how many people are already on the call.

+1 for this. I hate finding out after "talking to myself" for 5 minutes that I have infact been talking to the room...

Is this still really not a thing in Microsoft Teams? I am in IT; our company uses about 6+ different platforms for video conferencing and every single one of them has the option to "Mute all participants at entry" except Teams. This doesn't make any sense. And for that reason (and a few others, like being a complete CPU hog) our 350+ employees refuse to use Teams for meetings. Hence the half a dozen other options we support. 

It would be really fantastic if Microsoft could add this feature.

Yes, I totally agree. Every week I've got DM during call that I'm not muted and people hear my background noise. Especially I'm auto muted when there are more meeting participants. I don't see any reason why people wouldn't be auto-muted every time they join any meeting.
