Teams: Starts and shows Continue button that does nothing

Hi,

I just installed the Microsoft Teams desktop app. When I start it, it says "Welcome to Teams!", offers me a pulldown choice of "Personal", and a button "Continue". Clicking Continue does nothing. What do I do to start using Teams?

Thanks

Hi Iola,

I'm Nik, an independent advisor here to assist you with this.

To give you the background that MS Team free comes in two variants.

  1. MS, Team free personal account(accessible from mobile/web app https://teams.live.com). You don't need to sign for this as it comes with all Microsoft account

It looks like you got the MS teams personal on the Desktop app early to release on your device, but it has not yet worked completely.

I'd suggest waiting for Microsft announcement on MS Teams personal life launch that schedule to release soon this month.

For more, see https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/r...

Regards

Nik

This is still an ongoing problem. I uninstalled, deleted all Microsoft Teams and Skype related folders, downloaded the app, installed, upon opening it automatically had me signed in. It shows all the activities in my calendar accurately, but when I try to join a meeting via a link provided in the calendar invite, Teams asks me to sign in again. I sign in and nothing happens. I go back to the link in the calendar invite, click it, and then it produces a window that reads, "Can you please sign in again? Sorry for any inconvenience. I click, "Sign in" and the app crashes and restarts.

What finally worked for me (and i quote the MS Chatbot):

Thanks. Let us try to rename the Teams folder and see if this one can fix this. Kindly, quit Teams first and follow the steps below:

    1. Click on any blank spaces on MAC desktop view.2. Click on Go at the Apple menu bar.3. Choose Go to Folder and type the following: ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft4. Look for the Teams for Desktop folder and rename it to Teams for Desktop old.

Once done, relaunch the Teams app and please try to sign in again.

The folder was named 'Teams' not 'Teams for Desktop'. But it worked.

Same - have an ancient work account that I don't have access to that's caught in its memory. I had another employer in-between and teams worked then, but teams has forgotten about that account. Now, I'm having the same issue of not being able to use the personal account because of having a work account that remains that was not logged out of during the time access was allowed.
