Teams: Starts and shows Continue button that does nothing

Hi,

I just installed the Microsoft Teams desktop app. When I start it, it says "Welcome to Teams!", offers me a pulldown choice of "Personal", and a button "Continue". Clicking Continue does nothing. What do I do to start using Teams?

Thanks

Hi Iola,

I'm Nik, an independent advisor here to assist you with this.

To give you the background that MS Team free comes in two variants.

  1. MS, Team free personal account(accessible from mobile/web app https://teams.live.com). You don't need to sign for this as it comes with all Microsoft account

It looks like you got the MS teams personal on the Desktop app early to release on your device, but it has not yet worked completely.

I'd suggest waiting for Microsft announcement on MS Teams personal life launch that schedule to release soon this month.

For more, see https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/r...

Regards

Nik

April 8, 2024. It's still the same. I encountered the same situation. The last comment helped. Signing out (top right) and signing in back resolves the problem. yeeesh, and this after the pandemic already has come and gone. And another OS is in development when parts of their system is still not polished.

I’ve decided to not re-install. Going to stick to web version.

I’ll give this a shot. If the issue still exists, I’m just going to remove and never install again. I’ll use the web based version if ever.

Stale settings files will cause this. If you are on macOS delete the following directories:

    ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.microsoft.teams

    ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams

    ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Microsoft\ Teams\ Helper
