Audio output through bluetooth not working in teams app android

I  am  using Teams  app  android  to  attend  my online classes  but I am facing issues  with bluetooth speaker. I wanted  to  use  Nest  mini  for  audio  output so  I   paired  to  it through bluetooth  on  my android device and  audio  output of  all  the  apps  work  except teams. This  issue  seems  to  be  only  on  android  app  because on  the  desktop app on  windows 10 the  same  speaker  works  absolutely fine. In  the  android app  when  I  try  to  switch  the  audio  output to  bluetooth, within  a  second it  switches  back  to  device  audio. I  tried on another android device as  well  but no luck. I  am  running the  latest  teams  version  (as  no  updates  available in  Play  store). Any  help  is  welcome.

I have this same problem with my OnePlus Nord 2 CE 256 and BT headset and car BT system, either of them is not working with Teams.

    I have tried all actions:

    • Cleared the data & cache from Teams
    • Uninstall & reinstall Teams
    • Cleared data & cache from Bluetooth
    • Forget & reconnect devices
    • Restricted Nearby devices -> restart -> Allowed nearby devices -> restart

This last was my last hope and now I don´t know what to do, because it would be essential for my work to be able to use Teams in car.

As addition to other people who have reported this issue, I have problem not only with BT but also "Speaker" in Teams is not working. The only option that is working is "Device"

    Hi,

I solved by allowing "nearby devices" in Setting - App - Teams in my Android smartphone but it worked only after unistalling and install back again the app

On Andriod once you go to Android App Settings, apart from allow nearby devices, you also need to do following :

    Under permissions:

    • Allow Nearby Devices
    • click on See all apps with this permission :

You will see "wireless earphone" - Ensure it is "ALLOW" . It should solve the issue. At least it did to me and few others I told

Fun enough I have similar problem with my bose quietcomfort earbuds II, it used to work and now it doesn't.

The really interesting part is that the mic from the Bluetooth works but I don't hear any sound whatsoever...

When I use the speakers obviously the sound works again.

I tried everything mentioned before, clear cache, reinstall, unpairing etc...

100% a bug on MS Teams I think but any tips would be interesting

I've been struggling with this problem for a while until I finally found a solution that worked for me. Hope it helps other people here too.

Go to Settings -> Apps -> Teams -> Permissions -> Allow access to "Nearby devices"

After that restart Teams app and you should get the option of choosing Bluetooth device for audio output during a call.
