Audio output through bluetooth not working in teams app android

I  am  using Teams  app  android  to  attend  my online classes  but I am facing issues  with bluetooth speaker. I wanted  to  use  Nest  mini  for  audio  output so  I   paired  to  it through bluetooth  on  my android device and  audio  output of  all  the  apps  work  except teams. This  issue  seems  to  be  only  on  android  app  because on  the  desktop app on  windows 10 the  same  speaker  works  absolutely fine. In  the  android app  when  I  try  to  switch  the  audio  output to  bluetooth, within  a  second it  switches  back  to  device  audio. I  tried on another android device as  well  but no luck. I  am  running the  latest  teams  version  (as  no  updates  available in  Play  store). Any  help  is  welcome.

This was driving me nuts for my car audio. It worked once bit never again when trying to use my Bluetooth audio for Teams through my car speakers. What solved this for me was checking the Bluetooth configuration for my car, nothing to do with Teams, seemingly. For some reason, when connected to my car, the enable for "calls" setting was disabled despite me definitely being able to take phone calls through my Bluetooth speaker outside of Teams. I don't really get it but unpaired from my car and then making sure "calls" and"audio" were both toggled on is how I resolved this.

    This one works for me!

    • Go to Settings -> Apps -> Teams
    • Click Permissions
    • Make sure that Nearby Devices is allowed
    • Restart bluetooth headset
    • Close Teams and open again

Hello I had a similar problem on Android in January 2023.

What I did to resolve was open my paired Bluetooth devices in Android settings, selected the settings for my Bluetooth earbuds, and changed the audio device type from Other to Headphones. I was then able to select my Bluetooth earbuds as the output device in Teams. It may require force closing Teams and reopening.
