Audio output through bluetooth not working in teams app android

I  am  using Teams  app  android  to  attend  my online classes  but I am facing issues  with bluetooth speaker. I wanted  to  use  Nest  mini  for  audio  output so  I   paired  to  it through bluetooth  on  my android device and  audio  output of  all  the  apps  work  except teams. This  issue  seems  to  be  only  on  android  app  because on  the  desktop app on  windows 10 the  same  speaker  works  absolutely fine. In  the  android app  when  I  try  to  switch  the  audio  output to  bluetooth, within  a  second it  switches  back  to  device  audio. I  tried on another android device as  well  but no luck. I  am  running the  latest  teams  version  (as  no  updates  available in  Play  store). Any  help  is  welcome.

    Hi,

I SOLVED by allowing "nearby devices" in Setting - App - Teams in my Android smartphone

I've run into the same issue and even if I have tried all suggestions, the one that worked for me was to reinstall teams app on the phone and say allow to the nearby devices when was asked in the beginning! was a pain not to have Bluetooth, but now is solved :)

    This one works for me!

    • Go to Settings -> Apps -> Teams
    • Click Permissions
    • Make sure that Nearby Devices is allowed
    • Restart bluetooth headset
    • Close Teams and open again

This worked for me also! This was so frustrating and I assumed it was my organization's permissions. But nope- just an android setting. I also cleared the Teams Cache prior to doing this, not sure if that helped also or if it was unrelated.

    O

I had the same issue on Android but managed to fix it by changing my app settings to allow it to "connect to a nearby device"

Glad I found this thread. Looking at the App permissions I did not have Nearby Devices enabled.

I nixed all my app data and restarted, and noticed it said this on restart and resync with my Corporate profile:

"Android requires nearby devices access to connect to your Bluetooth headset"

I'm anticipating it will work now I've granted this.
