Audio output through bluetooth not working in teams app android

I  am  using Teams  app  android  to  attend  my online classes  but I am facing issues  with bluetooth speaker. I wanted  to  use  Nest  mini  for  audio  output so  I   paired  to  it through bluetooth  on  my android device and  audio  output of  all  the  apps  work  except teams. This  issue  seems  to  be  only  on  android  app  because on  the  desktop app on  windows 10 the  same  speaker  works  absolutely fine. In  the  android app  when  I  try  to  switch  the  audio  output to  bluetooth, within  a  second it  switches  back  to  device  audio. I  tried on another android device as  well  but no luck. I  am  running the  latest  teams  version  (as  no  updates  available in  Play  store). Any  help  is  welcome.

Try the workaround from the comments. Disconnect your Bluetooth device and then once you are in the call connect it to your phone and then the Bluetooth option should appear.

I gave up on teams. So can't say if it still works for Android 13 but it usually worked for me on 12. Every now and then I'd have to try a couple times.

Fresh install, first time running teams on new device, no Bluetooth option in Teams. I've been having the same issue for a long time on multiple phones. Bluetooth isn't an option, only device or speaker. Was hoping Android 13 would fix it, but no change. Definitely not a device or OS issue as all other apps work fine with my headsets and handsfree.

I was able to fix this on my Pixel 5 today by clearing both the Cache and User data for the Teams app, which is similar to installing for the first time. Notice I say first time. For those who uninstalled and reinstalled the Teams app and it did not fix their problem, it may be because those two items were not cleared before you uninstalled. Many times apps leave stuff behind when they are uninstalled and then reuse that same data when they are reinstalled, So if the problem is in that data, it is just carried forward. I'm not saying this method will definitely solve the problem on your phone, but give it a try.

I have not read every post in this thread, so bear with me if this has been said already, but another possibility is enabling permission in Teams for Nearby devices. I have not experimented with this yet to see if that is required, but I did enable that when I was troubleshooting.

Good luck. I feel your frustration.

    Hi all,

I can only join the club. I have for work a Google Pixel 5 with Jabra Evolve 75. This works with EVERYTHING, except (surprise) MS teams. More specifically: They do not work with the MS teams installed by my IT department in the WORK profile.

In my PERSONAL profile (which is not controlled by the IT department, and where I can install e.g. MS Teams from Google Play), I tested MS teams as well.

The WORK - MS Teams has NO "Bluetooth", only Device and Speaker. The PERSONAL MS Teams DOES have all expected settings (so, including BT).

This is the result after closing the WORK app, clearing the cache etc. as suggested in the former messages.

The Jabra Evolve 75 works with any other app, including e.g. CISCO WebEx Teams from the WORK profile.

I had the problem as well.

Disabling/uninstall Phone-Link (Phone App Windows 10) solved it for me.
