Hello,

My in built microphone on my laptop works well with other  and is good on the voice recorder but I cannot take part in audio conversations on Teams because others in the conversation cannot hear me. I have tried settings on Teams and on my laptop control panel but haven't been able to fix the problem. Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance.

This is unbelievable. I too have the same issue where my microphone works for all applications, and even works in Teams 1V1 conversations. However...

in Teams calls with multiple people, NO ONE CAN HEAR ME (sounds like I am speaking from the bottom of a well).  Based on this forum, the problem seems to be common.  I am using a new Dell Laptop issued by Uncle Sam.  I have run this by IT, we have checked every setting, and have found no solution. It is a shame, because otherwise, I really like and prefer MS Teams to other apps.

It seems to me this must be some glitch or problem with the software, perhaps with an automatic volume control setting specific to calls with more than 3 people.

Recently I noticed that Teams (desktop version) has a new option 'Noise suppression'  under device settings.

I set this to 'Off' that cured the problem for me.

(The other options are High, Low, and Auto I did not try them and I do not plan to in the short term.)

Interestingly the help text under the option says 'Choose Low if you want others to hear music'. (?)

Thanks, Peter, for the good advice! Yes, indeed, setting the noise reduction on "Off" makes a difference in the test call ("Low" or "Automatic" did not work). It is still not very loud but a clear improvement.

I tried to turn off 'Noise suppression' or set it to low, still doesn't work for me, same issue, nobody can hear me well from other side.
