Hello,

My in built microphone on my laptop works well with other  and is good on the voice recorder but I cannot take part in audio conversations on Teams because others in the conversation cannot hear me. I have tried settings on Teams and on my laptop control panel but haven't been able to fix the problem. Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance.

I have exactly the same problem. It's the same with Skype too, so this is clearly a Microsoft/Windows 10 issue (Zoom etc all work fine). I tried unistalling the Realtek audio driver, which then re-installs automatically after restarting, which fixed the issue temporarily (despite breaking my audio jack). But the problem soon came back again (with the audio jack then fixing itself at the same time). Please help Microsoft, it's pretty terrible how long this is going on for and how little help we've received to fix it, it's such a pain and has been like this for months and months. Thanks

Did anyone find a solution? I am having the same problem. I tried the browser version of Teams and it was fine but once I download the desktop app no one can hear me properly.  My settings work with everything else but Teams and I need Teams for my work.

    Hi

I had the intermittent microphone problem - some saying I was so soft and others saying they could not hear me at all.

I had just switched from using my home laptop which I knew had a broken microphone and so had bought myself a USB desk microphone £19.95 which is plug and play and all I have to do is make sure the blue light is showing and people can hear me.  The blue light is an on off switch so easy to use. (light on to talk and press to turn off and the mic is off)

Sadly I fear the quality therefore of microphones in some laptops is nowhere near good enough for what we are trying to do with them within applications and find my solution to work so I will stick with it.  I note that some people in my office are using headphones with mics attached (like gaming headsets) and these seem to also work very well indeed.

It is therefore not a laptop software issue seemingly, in my opinion, as they work with some apps and not others so unless the application selected makes a change I fear it will not be sorted.

    This is my tuppenceworth!

    Nick
