Hello,

My in built microphone on my laptop works well with other  and is good on the voice recorder but I cannot take part in audio conversations on Teams because others in the conversation cannot hear me. I have tried settings on Teams and on my laptop control panel but haven't been able to fix the problem. Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance.

I too am having the same issue...  zoom and support assist on my dell 3410 works fine.   Teams is quiet and I cannot adjust the sample rate on the device.  It shows only 1 channel where as my dell 7470 shows 2 channels at 48,000hz.

I have been on the phone with teams support to no avail for hours today...

I also have a repro of this problem, and mayhave a workaround, by changing the default audio format for the microphone.

Try going to legacy Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / Manage Audio Devices, then click on the Recording tab, then click on your microphone device, and click the Properties button below.  In the Advance tab, try changing the default format of audio... my PC was recording at 44100 Hz, and changing to 48000 Hz resolved the microphone gain problem in Teams.

    Same problem for me.

Since I updated system to Win 10 1909

Everything was working well in 1803.

Now i have this issue in teams. No problem at all in Skype or other tool.

System is a Dell XPS. Audio drivers have been re installed but still exactly the same.

I have the very same issue with my built in micrphone on a Dell 7537 and the newest Microsoft Teams Version 1.3.00.21759 (64 bit).

I was prompted to upgrade the MS Teams version and now on a Test Call my built in micrphone is almost inaudible, people I try to talk to say it is either too low or breaks up. Nothing I can do in Wiindows 10 seems to have any effect on the problem, Skype also has the same problem so it looks like something that was recently updated either in Skype, Teams or Windows has changed the performance.

3rd party Apps, Audacity, OBS Studio, Voice Recorder have no problem with the built in microphone.

    Cortana and Dictation work fine.

I've also tested a PLT Legend BT Headset, and found the same huge differential between 3rd party Apps and Skype or MS Teams. It's almost like the latest verions MS Teams or Skype have taken noise reduction to an extreme level.

Before the latest problems if I had a problem it tended to be the very opposite, the microphone was too loud causing audio clipping, so I know it is not a hardware issue.

There must be a parameter somewhere that can be adjusted.
