I've got a lenovo laptop and been having the same issue but seemed to fix by just uninstalling the conexant audio driver:

    • right click windows icon and go to 'Device Manager'
    • under 'sound, video and game controllers' right click and uninstall conexant
    • once laptop restarted, in teams selected correct microphone and it worked! I also upped the microphone & boost levels in sound settings (right click speaker icon on taskbar)

random side note - previously, in the 'sounds' settings I only had one microphone listed. But after uninstalling conexant I had both the built in mic and my earphone mic listed

    ME TOO.

I tried these changes and had nothing to change - the settings I have were the same as those I was told to change to and still got the annoying problem.

What worked for me was to uninstall the realtek audio drivers & make use of the microsoft audio driver instead. No problems since I did that.

Tried all of this, and still no luck. I am on yet another teams call with 10 other people and the response was "it sounds like you are talking from the bottom of a tunnel".

-Input volumes... all 100 % (including Teams app).

-Teams Settings: Automatically Adjust Mic Sensitivity*: OFF (*this appears to be a brand new setting, BUT IT DOES NOTHING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM)

    -Teams Settings: Noise Suppression: OFF

Again at my wit's end. Have been with IT, on multiple forums, re-installed Teams multiple times.

Teams is, at its core, a phone call system.

    No one can hear me.

And to clarify... this is only on MS Teams. Other programs on the laptop (Zoom, etc.) sound works perfectly fine.

    This is crazy.
