Export messages from Teams Chat?

I'm wondering if it is possible to export conversations in Teams?  Also I'm just having trouble organizing my Team chats and finding messages from more than a month or two ago?  Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

    There is this Chrome Extension called SingleFile which beautifully saves the entire Teams chat, after it has been selected with the mouse, by right-clicking on the selection and saving the selection from there via the SingleFile context menu (open Teams in the Chrome browser for that purpose), as a self-contained html file that contains everything including any images.

    Yes Aysan -- for some reason this also worked only one time for me, and now it doesn't seem to capture the entire chat anymore...

    There seems to be some "lazy loading" of the chat content involved. Unfortunately, I couldn't get Chrome or Firefox to not lazy load the chat despite deactivating it in the browser settings.

    There is a way to copy the entire chat history easily. 

    [edit - I stand corrected on this, this was only working for me - and only sometimes - because my organization set chats to only be retained for 2 weeks. Which means the ability to save certain chats in their entirety is even more important]

    1. Go to the chat you want to save.
    2. Click on the "pop-out" button (in the upper right hand corner of the chat window (it's a box with an arrow extending up and out to the right.
    3. In your pop up window, use CTRL-A to select all, CTRL-C to copy,
    4. and then you can switch to OneNote or Word or wherever to CTRL-V paste.

    This will give you the text of the chat - if you want it to look nice and not have a bunch of extraneous text - you'll need to do some cleanup.... but it gets the basic job done. [edit - I wish!]

    Try this with a conversation that has been going on for a few weeks. It does not work. Not even close.

    The best it will do is capture anywhere between 100 to 160 lines of text at a time, no images, and no way to predict where the page break will be, so you can't even reliably repeat the process one page at a time.

    Believe me if something this simple was in any way viable, this forum discussion would not even exist.
