Export messages from Teams Chat?

As per my knowledge, it's not feasible to export the conversations in Teams directly. As a workaround we can copy the entire conversations, then paste them to Word, OneNote, or other apps. Also for the single chat, we can share it to Outlook via click Share to Outlook option after you click more options of that specific chat. Or other workaround is that capture the screenshots of those conversations, then save it as .PNG, .JPG or other type file.

Actually, for your first and second query, the admin have the permission to run the content search from admin center, there admin may be abled to export the needed information. So if you are not the global admin in your organization, please do involve your admin here to go ahead. For the admin reference: Conduct an eDiscovery investigation of content in Microsoft Teams.

I would like to know how to copy the entire conversation in a lengthy chat.  I have not found a simple solution where we had several chats during a 4 hour virtual conference.

Dont forget that you must have an E3 or E5 to do this! As usual, microsoft make all of their products 65% functional with a side of a migraine.

Is there a way to easily select an entire conversation? I find that it keeps dropping as I am highlighting and scrolling a long conversation.

It is possible to highlight all the conversation chat and messages, right click, select copy and pasted into whichever application you need.

I don't understand this response. Are you saying it is possible to highlight an entire conversation? If so, how? I don't think clicking "copy" highlights the entire conversation and your message doesn't provide any other guidance.

Recently, our related team had released the Teams Export APIs which allows us to export 1:1 and group chat messages. For details, please check here. If possible, you can use those APIs to try to export the chat messages.

And currently, there is no ETA for the feature exporting messages from Teams chat. Thanks for your understanding and patience. We will keep monitoring here. 

For the manual way, we can copy the entire chat messages in segments, then paste them to Text-based application, like Notepad, Word, etc. Or use the snipping tool to capture the screenshots of the chat messages.
