Export messages from Teams Chat?

1. There is no "Share to Outlook" option available. I can not say why not.
2. Copying entire conversations is difficult, as it will only allow copying roughly a page at a time. When you attempt to include more than a page, it will either drop off the first part or the second part. It is unclear what the application considers to be a "page".
3. This is a massive functional deficiency in the application which Microsoft needs to escalate getting a resolution for.
4. Take somebody off creating new cutesy plug-ins that nobody asked for. Work on providing an "Export Conversation" plug-in.

You may try the following workaround:

1. Open Teams into the Browser, Chrome for instance
2. Select all the conversation, right click and select Print as PDF
3. It will save as PDF and also include the pictures 

You may also pop up the conversation from Microsoft Teams client, perform select full conversation, copy and paste into a Word document.

Would it be beyond the wit of someone at Microsoft to build this critical functionality into Teams?

I am disappointed that there is no export functionality, especially as these conversations could fall under public records requests. In fact, the ability to edit/delete your messages puts those of us under public records laws in an awkward place.

Ages later, this is still the most accurate message in all this thread. There are solutions for when your account is a Microsoft account and not an organization account (through this support page), but if your account belongs to "work or school", you are pretty much F...ed.

Thank you, Microsoft for making a product not future-proof (people leave organizations!) and f.. us all in the (...) . Instead of making things more complicated with shareponts, one notes, one drives, why don't you focus on fixing what is wrong with your current products and making something solid that makes all users happy? Each person on this thread has wasted hours because of this.

What you are describing is the steps to export a single "message", within a chat. What is needed is a the way to export all messages within a chat.

It seems you are calling it a "conversation", but that does not seem to be a Teams terminology. You wrote that as workaround we can copy entire conversation, but Teams does not copy the entire conversation, only a handful (screenful?) of messages in the conversation. 

As per my knowledge, it's not feasible to export the conversations in Teams directly. As a workaround we can copy the entire conversations, then paste them to Word, OneNote, or other apps. Also for the single chat, we can share it to Outlook via click Share to Outlook option after you click more options of that specific chat. Or other workaround is that capture the screenshots of those conversations, then save it as .PNG, .JPG or other type file.
