How do you copy Teams message without time and sender information?

It is literally drinig me nuts as I am typically a mediator between people or testing their URLs and every time I have to remove ton of reduntant stuff and its so easy to fix this but Microsoft likes to get people angry.

Should you still have some issues, please follow below:

To be able to copy Teams message without timestamp and sender information, all you have to do is to NOT use double click of mouse to select the text you want to copy, neither Ctrl+A.

Just use mouse cursor to select a text you wish to copy, once highlighted, press Ctrl+C and paste with standard Ctrl+V.

This is incorrect, you have to carefully and deliberately drag from the start of the text. If you ever start from the end of the text when highlighting you will highlight an invisible timestamp. Additionally if you ever highlight two chat messages the timestamps will appear no matter what direction you start highlighting from. Why the timestamps can be highlighted invisibly to be copied makes no sense since you can highlight them to copy the same thing anyway. Why doesn't Microsoft just remove the invisible timestamps and leave just the visible ones?

One way to copy text in Teams is to highlight it and press Ctrl + C, then paste it wherever you want. This is a simple and effective workaround. 😊

If you're pasting into Word, and this will probably work for other MS apps too, like an Outlook message, the following "Find" string with wildcards on will find the [12hr-timeOfDay AM/PM] LastName, FirstName newline where LastName can be hyphenated or apostrophized (like O'Reilly) or spaced, like John Silver, Long. A first or last name like Billy Joel, or Carl Philip Emmanual is also found.

It will not find o'Reilly. I used an initial capital to reduce false finds with the text you want. Modify your find as needed.

I did not check 24-hour time, and you'd probably have to use a macro to get something like Yesterday or Weekday, or mm/dd preceding the time of day (if you copy from earlier in the week or prior weeks).

It's the stuff between the quote marks and typing an apostrophe did not want to work for me, I had to actually copy the apostrophe from an apostrophized word in the Word document. Copying the above did work to paste into Word's Find. (I did not check Find/Replace in other Office apps.)

Once you get the find working, you can use ^13 in the replace. (Or ^13^13 if you want a blank line separating each text line.

Once you get the text fixed in Word you can copy and paste it elsewhere, bearing in mind that newlines sometimes don't always paste the way you want them in the target app/document.

Yeah, it's a workaround, until Office 365 or whatever it's named this week gives an option to paste with/without date-time and owner info. (Personally, I want the date-time and owner.)

I found that if you double-click the first word of the paragraph, then hold down Shift and use "End" key (hopefully you have one instead of Fn+End), then down until you get to the last word, then arrow back (left) one character, release shift key, then copy, it doesn't copy the time-stamp.

Too bad you still have to repeat that for every paragraph.
