How do you copy Teams message without time and sender information?

How to implement it?

If you're pasting into Word, and this will probably work for other MS apps too, like an Outlook message, the following "Find" string with wildcards on will find the [12hr-timeOfDay AM/PM] LastName, FirstName newline where LastName can be hyphenated or apostrophized (like O'Reilly) or spaced, like John Silver, Long. A first or last name like Billy Joel, or Carl Philip Emmanual is also found.

It will not find o'Reilly. I used an initial capital to reduce false finds with the text you want. Modify your find as needed.

I did not check 24-hour time, and you'd probably have to use a macro to get something like Yesterday or Weekday, or mm/dd preceding the time of day (if you copy from earlier in the week or prior weeks).

"^13[[0-9]@:[0-9]@ [AP]M] [A-Z’-][A-Z a-z’-]@, [A-Z][A-Z a-z'-]@^13"

It's the stuff between the quote marks and typing an apostrophe did not want to work for me, I had to actually copy the apostrophe from an apostrophized word in the Word document. Copying the above did work to paste into Word's Find. (I did not check Find/Replace in other Office apps.)

Once you get the find working, you can use ^13 in the replace. (Or ^13^13 if you want a blank line separating each text line.

Once you get the text fixed in Word you can copy and paste it elsewhere, bearing in mind that newlines sometimes don't always paste the way you want them in the target app/document.

Yeah, it's a workaround, until Office 365 or whatever it's named this week gives an option to paste with/without date-time and owner info. (Personally, I want the date-time and owner.)

One thing that pisses me off the most is 85% of all the answers offered on this "official Microsoft Forum" don't solve the issue, don't address the issue or seem to be easy answers "to get rid of the bothersome consumer"

There are a lot of UX issues that Microsoft just doesn't address. Some issues I've found that are 10 years old. Either they are incompetent fools that don't know how to get constructive feedback from their user base, or, they simply don't care. I have a hard time believing they are that incompetent.

At home, OF COURSE I don't use Microsoft Office. Office makes me miserable (I'm not sure if VSC is part of Office. I will admit I was pretty impressed by VSC). There are so many unpolished and unstandatdized details throughout the whole Office suit... It's like trying to drive at 100k/h with square wheels.

Where I DON'T have a choice to use Office is at work. MS Office is unfortunately one of the most widespread business standards in the world. And Microsoft knows this. If you can't conform to it's subpar experience and performance, you're condemned to suffering it day in and day out.

You know... I imagine the Microsoft Office team thinking: "there's nothing wrong with Office". Which leads to the adage : "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"... But I hate this adage.

Here's my version : "If it ain't broke, make it better."

And most probably, this is just another lost rant from just another disgruntled user...

While we may have different preferences and opinions, we should respect the efforts of software developers to create solutions for various needs. Most of the people who answer questions on this forum are not affiliated with Microsoft, but they are willing to share their knowledge and experience. If you have a business 365 subscription, you can also contact Microsoft directly for technical support.

One way to copy text in Teams is to highlight it and press Ctrl + C, then paste it wherever you want. This is a simple and effective workaround. 😊

If you are curious about how Teams works online, you can open it and press F12 to see the code behind it. You will be amazed by the complexity and sophistication of this app, as well as the other parts of 365.

There are at times we all can't get our computers working the way they should and look for the nearest window for them, I would try and help you or anyone else if I can as we all like to have an error free computer/ software.
