Just getting back to work after vacation and noticed the Conversation button in the top right-hand corner is no longer visible when documents and spreadsheets, both existing and new, are opened in Teams. We use the Conversation button to notify and tag the appropriate channel members that the document has been updated and to share information. This button is no longer available/visible to me; however, it's visible to my associate. See the attached screenshots of a document that was created and opened in Teams.

Here are the Teams applications version numbers for myself and our associate. I'm confident that this issue is directly related to the latest version of Teams that was updated yesterday; however, Microsoft Chat Support says that's not the case.
Me: You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.5.00.17261. It was last updated on 6/29/22.
Associate: You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.5.00.15861. It was last updated on 6/14/22.
I've also confirmed that a user outside of my organization running Version 1.5.00.17867 is also experiencing this issue as of this week.
Any assistance would be very helpful.

We have the same issue, in all clients/web versions. PLS have it fixed...this functionality is probably THE most important for easy collaboration.
I can’t understand the logic to remove the Conversation Button. We are on a “Asynchronous First” journey within our org and the conversation button is imperative when users link documents into the channel discussion, and continue those discussions whilst real-time collaborating on a document.
Yes I can open the file in the desktop version of the app, and continue the conversation in my Teams client but it really isn’t the same – the conversation button combined with the in-Teams editing ties the conversation and the document as one!
Same here - this is the second time I've been either "versioned out" or "updated out" of having the conversation function. And I agree it is a core/central function of collaboration that makes MS TEAMS the place to work with distributed staff. I also tried on the web version just now, no conversation button.
I can no longer collaborate on documents of any kind in TEAMS unless I used the comment function; it's a poor substitute because I have not found anyway to @ all the members of the channel as a group. Instead I have to message folks one by one or add names one by one. I end up making docs, then going out to the general location and telling the team to go find something and look at it. This is like walking around the block to get to the other side of my front yard.

Perhaps it is time to rename MS TEAMS to something more expressive of the current functionality. "Conversation" is the most critical feature that enables asynchronous collaboration among local and distributed staff. Without it, MS TEAMS is reduced to a meeting tool - those features work well but they require synchronous participation. Everyone has to be in the meeting else they may get to visit a recorded version of the meeting (really, who does that).
