Black screen camera on Microsoft Teams desktop app
Today I had a meeting where I needed my camera turned on but it wasn't working. I checked the preview of the camera and it shows only black screen.
I've tried anything I could to resolve the problem ( check for privacy settings, update camera drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the camera device , uninstalled and reinstalled teams, reboot the laptop multiple times ). The camera works on any other app except MT desktop app. It also doesn't let me do the screen share thing.
Any help? I really need it solved so I can be able to take my exams.

2020-11-20T18:50:17+00:00 I was able to resolve this without needing to reload the user profile by removing the camera driver in device manager. Remove with the box unchecked to delete the driver just uninstall only. Go to Action at the top and Scan for hardware changes. After the camera is displayed again in device manager, try signing out of Teams sign back in again and test the camera.

2020-12-07T07:52:51+00:00 I have the same issue. I was using Background effects, and it suddenly stopped working early in one call/meeting.
After that, I just get a black screen. No error messages, it is just black even if I only activate the camera. Worked fine for months before.
The camera works fine in all other apps, like slack and zoom.
I have tried inactivating the camera and reactivate, and I have tried all disabling and enabling in security settings.
No luck. Clearly related to Teams, not the camera it self.

2020-12-08T13:33:53+00:00 Sorry for the late reply Sven, I just realised I had a rule in my Outlook client that moved your message to a subfolder in my inbox.
I never found a solution for this and had no choice but to nuke the user profile.....so no luck.
On a positive note, I never encountered the problem ever since.
Best of luck and happy holidays!
