Black screen camera on Microsoft Teams desktop app

Today I had a meeting where I needed my camera turned on but it wasn't working. I checked the preview of the camera and it shows only black screen.

I've tried anything I could to resolve the problem ( check for privacy settings, update camera drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the camera device , uninstalled and reinstalled teams, reboot the laptop multiple times ). The camera works on any other app except MT desktop app. It also doesn't let me do the screen share thing.

Any help? I really need it solved so I can be able to take my exams.

    I had the same black screen problems on my Lenovo laptop when using Teams desktop app. Web version of Teams did not have this problem. I found a newer version of camera driver on Levono website. Upgrading the camera driver appears resolved the issue.

    I'm also having the same issue on 2020 MBP with built-in FaceTime Camera, running windows 10 in bootcamp. 

    Camera works in Camera app, Zoom, Teams in Opera browser.

    I have done all the uninstalls and reinstalls of camera, of drivers, of Teams. 

    I've cleared %appdata%\Microsoft\teams twice.

    Obviously restarted the computer. 

    Downloaded latest windows support software on a USB through Boot Camp Utility and repaired in the Windows partition.

    Really at a loss.

    Having this problem on MacBook Pro 16" (2019) as well. 

    I suspect a bug in Teams. Camera works in programs like Zoom but not in the desktop version Teams. But you can open a meeting link, then close the desktop version. On the meeting forwarder page choose the browser version. This might allow a working video call with no problems on outgoing video.

    Alternatively go to https://teams.microsoft.com/ for the browser version, continue from there (video calls are possible in the browser version).

    Yes, even though it rotates the image 90 degrees. I'd like it to work on desktop and also be able to sharescreen
