How to fix: You can't sign in here with a personal account. Use your work or school account instead.

I have a brand new laptop running Windows 11 Home, I am the only user on this laptop.
I am trying to connect Tableau Desktop to my Azure SQL Server. My Azure SQL Server has been set-up using my personal hotmail account.
However, after entering my credentials correctly. A message from Microsoft appears stating the following:

Sign in

You can't sign in here with a personal account. Use your work or school account instead.

Which I find frustrating and strange, because PowerBI desktop has not problem connecting my Azure SQL Server.
How can I resolve this quickly?

This likely happens because Azure SQL Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) authentication does not support personal Microsoft accounts (Hotmail/Outlook.com); Tableau is correctly enforcing this, which is why you see the “use a work or school account” error even though Power BI Desktop works via a different auth flow. To fix it, either create/use a work or school account in a Microsoft Entra tenant and set it as the Azure SQL Entra admin, or switch Tableau to SQL Authentication (SQL login + password) instead of Entra authentication.
