Voice Input Issue in Copilot App

When I tap the microphone icon to use voice input, the app opens a separate screen that shows an image of water with the text “I’m listening.” However, that screen doesn’t show the actual conversation—I can’t see my messages or the AI’s responses while using voice input. This makes it difficult to follow the conversation or know what’s happening in real time.

It would be much more user-friendly if voice input could be integrated into the main chat screen, or at least still display the ongoing conversation while the mic is active. As it stands, the experience feels disconnected and limits the usefulness of voice interaction.

I found a solution that worked for me, so it might be worth trying for others as well. It seems that the latest Realtek audio drivers may be causing some issues. The fix is simple: remove the audio drivers via Device Manager and then restart your laptop. This will revert the system back to the factory-installed drivers.

I’m having exactly the same problem, but on an iPad Pro. So, I don’t have the option of changing the audio drivers. If anybody has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them. Thanks.

The issue is not with the sound, as I can hear Copilot clearly and have no problem conversing back and forth. On the text side, I can see both my input and Copilot's replies without any issues. However, when I click the mic, the Copilot screen switches from the text view to a different screen showing a photo of water with the words "I'm listening." During this time, the text of the conversation between me and Copilot is not displayed. The app should not change screens when the mic is activated but should remain on the text side, continuing to display the spoken conversation in text form. Without text replies from Copilot visible, there’s no way to copy its responses.

Yes, as with ChatGPT, we should have the option of using the microphone for only voice input (instead of typing), or switch to two-way dialog mode. This is a major limitation.
