I downloaded the AOMEI again, and used there free trial, so it should look like this, correct? Then I am questioned, if I wanna use winPE or WinRE - I before, when get the PC shutdown the WinRE method, because the WinPe required some additional download of some addon.. so should I use which?
VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) writes issue
Hi, sorry for delay, I would like to continue in discuss about this issue

Hi, I use Acronis True Image for backuping my PC and now I started to having issue -
"There is not enough space on the volume where the snapshot storage is located"
Acronis support wrote me:
Since you're attempting to create a full PC backup, it requires a significant amount of storage space. It appears you're encountering storage-related issues. I recommend trying a disk-level backup for each individual backup present in your system to see if the issue persists.
Additionally, based on the screenshots and logs you provided, the issue seems to be related to VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) writers. As this is a Windows system component, I recommend contacting Microsoft Support to resolve the VSS writer issue. Once resolved, you should be able to proceed with backups successfully.
I am adding screenshot from the Acronis Disk Director.
How can I rise that?
we ended on
you said:
"Please run these commands:
takeown /f "Y:\System Volume Information" /r /d y
icacls "Y:\System Volume Information" /grant *S-1-5-32-544:F /t /c
rd /s /q "Y:\System Volume Information"
Once done, redo the steps listed in that Microsoft article."
so I did, then I went back to this page, as you said in that article and I got stuck on part 11.
"Type whoami and press Enter, and then record the user name. Type the following command and press Enter: icacls . /grant <username you got from whoami>:F /t
Note: Do not put a space between the username and ":F", or the command won't work."
it writes "access denied"

2025-07-10T09:21:32.0566667+00:00 What happens if you choose the WinPE mode?
I wasn't asked about the restart mode when I tested the tool, but this article can help
What is Partition Assistant Restart Mode?:

Ok, the move-resize function wasnt working in DEMO, so I bought the full product (i got it cheaper then from official website, so not a problem at all) - it looks like this now. (in the FREE version it was different, and wanted to do the stuff after the booting), in the AOMEI it just merge the unallocated space with the Recovery partition in the app..
that 51mb not allocated I cannot move, only merge with the C:
so I have additional question - I dont need that Reservation by system 50mbps partition?
I.e I shouldnt create it? I tried to do the Acronis backup with active VSS, and its working now.

2025-07-10T09:36:51.9066667+00:00 The tutorial I linked to (yesterday) was tested with the free version of AOMEI. It certainly works. Downloading the free version (instead of the trial) should have helped. Anyway, I'm very glad it's sorted.
The 50 MB free space before volume C can be left as it is. Merging it with C will require the volume C's layout to be changed, and there's a chance of a boot failure if the operation goes wrong, although this is rare.
