Hi, I use Acronis True Image for backuping my PC and now I started to having issue -

"There is not enough space on the volume where the snapshot storage is located"

Acronis support wrote me:

Since you're attempting to create a full PC backup, it requires a significant amount of storage space. It appears you're encountering storage-related issues. I recommend trying a disk-level backup for each individual backup present in your system to see if the issue persists.

Additionally, based on the screenshots and logs you provided, the issue seems to be related to VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) writers. As this is a Windows system component, I recommend contacting Microsoft Support to resolve the VSS writer issue. Once resolved, you should be able to proceed with backups successfully.

I am adding screenshot from the Acronis Disk Director.

How can I rise that?

"Please run these commands:

icacls "Y:\System Volume Information" /grant *S-1-5-32-544:F /t /c

rd /s /q "Y:\System Volume Information"

Once done, redo the steps listed in that Microsoft article."

so I did, then I went back to this page, as you said in that article and I got stuck on part 11.

"Type whoami and press Enter, and then record the user name. Type the following command and press Enter: icacls . /grant <username you got from whoami>:F /t

Note: Do not put a space between the username and ":F", or the command won't work."

it writes "access denied"

You're right. The report indicates that the System Reserved and the Recovery partitions have insufficient free space.

Regarding the Microsoft article “We couldn’t update system reserved partition” error installing Windows 10, it appears you're running the icacls command from the C:\Windows\System32 directory instead of the Y:\ drive.

    • The article instructs you to assign the drive letter Y: for the System Reserved partition. However, your Disk Management screenshot shows that step hasn't been completed.
    • And, step 8 in that article states the following:

In the command prompt, type Y: and hit enter to switch to that drive. Then, navigate to the Fonts folder by typing cd Boot\Fonts.

    I'd suggest redoing those steps.

It's because you have skipped Step 8 in that article. Running that command from C:\Windows\System32 is not advisable.

    Step 8 is:

In the command prompt, type Y: and hit enter to switch to that drive. Then, navigate to the Fonts folder by typing cd Boot\Fonts.

Ok, sorry, that is due to I do it once again (with new topic), so I thought I can continue with how I set it before (forgot the steps before)

Ok, so I got up to step 11 ..

"Successfully processed 17 files; Failed processing 0 files"

příkaz 10 (v tom microsoft návodu)

    příkaz 11 - ok

should I now proceed with step 12 and then Restore the permitions, as its in that page?

I am just saying, that if this manual should add me 15 mbs of space, I am not sure, if doing backups through Acronis takes more mbs per time, so if isnt not better to add there more space (like 200mb for that reservation partition) and 500mb for recovery partition.. so I wouldnt have to repete this in few months. I do daily backups.
