Windows 11 Taskbar unlock

What happens if one installs the Explorerpatch, and then MS decides to fix the taskbar problem? Can it be easily uninstalled? Will it cause issues down the road? I would prefer a native solution offered within the operating system then an addon. I do appreciate the effort though!

I always set the taskbar to the side, just to gain more vertical screen space, but now that is no longer possible.

Question: is Microsoft really monitoring this board, and are we going to have wait years before they do something about it?

I, don't know if Microsoft are monitoring this board, but if they are, then they should reply back to the Many Concerns that people have to this Taskbar, Issue.

I hope that they are going to maybe put it back into the next MAJOR software update. that would be great.

This is what happens when there is no competition. In this case whoever makes these decisions at Microsoft can do whatever he/she wants. When it is time for them to ask for money from us (customers), then they will play nice, and be accomodating.

I agree with you, a simple yes or no answer from Microsoft regarding restoring this functionality would be beneficial for all the concerned parties, but it may be too much to ask.

I agree. It's decision making without regard to customer. It's customer feedback unanswered and unimportant.

However, it is not just complete disregard for everyone using the product that is so surprising; the internal decision making process at MS must be so arrogant or pathetically bad to allow this change to be approved in first place.

I do agree with what you said. I don't like to speculate on one's reason to say or do something until I find out what the actual motive was. But, in this case, and as you said, it is either arrogance or total incompetance. If they have a solid reason for doing what they did, then they should make it clear to us so we can understand where they are coming from.

The option to move the taskbar around worked quite well in the past (at least in my experience), and now to be left with this "fixed or autohide" option is just simply not practical. My latest laptop has lost about 1/2 an inch or more of screen space (height wise) due this redesigned bar.

So, Microsoft people if you are listening , please put that fonctionality back as soon as it is possible to do so.
