I probably wouldn't have used the same words, but I'm feel'n you 100%!

It's all about marketing to the largest audience, which, at least in America these days, includes a healthy dose of some pretty stupid and techno-phobic people. Yep, Win 11 is more Apple-like and if you recall the "old days," Apple's main push was a skinny manual vs. IBM's tall stack. Hide the technology and make an interface even your dog can understand. Lock the taskbar? Geez, even my dog wants to chew off your arm! :2_

    Hello,

How do I unlock the taskbar in Windows 11?

    Thank you.

    New user of Windows 11.

I have always first thing moved the Taskbar to the right side of the screen in order to have more downward scrolling space. This is important for Excel programming and creation of large and complex Word documents.

Other convenient functions have been removed, such as saving MS Office files in recently used folders. When you try to save an Excel and Word file it always starts with some remote place, taking important productivity time away from you. This function was already removed under Windows 10.

What kind of corporation takes functionality away from their customers?

Only a monopolist who is unable to listen and has no interest in interaction.

Why is it not possible? BECAUSE MICROSOFT TOOK THE FUNCTIONALLITY AWAY!

I agree. Whoever came up with the bright idea to permanently lock the taskbar and *REMOVE* this well used functionality should be FIRED.

Not only is the taskbar locked for me - but it is locked in a BROKEN STATE. Yes - its the infamous 'empty taskbar' bug.

This is a feature that many users want, but unfortunately, it is currently not possible in Windows 11. I heard that Microsoft is considering adding this feature, but there is currently no way to adjust the height of the taskbar in Windows 11.

That seems like a step backwards.

I am with you on this. I also have always had my taskbar on the side of the screen. I have had my new Windows 11 laptop less than an hour and a half and already I am hating Windows 11! Hey, Microsoft...Whose bright idea was it to TAKE AWAY functionality??
