I am unable to set-up a new PIN as it asks for a security code to be sent on a number I no longer have. I just updated my number on microsoft accounts and it says will take 30 days before it takes effect. Now I can't even log into my laptop. No option for password login or to change to a local account. Someone HELP!!!

Thank you for your response, but I don’t get the option to change the email where to send the code. It’s my default email and I don’t ever receive the code. I have 3 other options to verify identity, 2 email addresses, my phone number and I created a passkey.. I do not get any of those options when trying to reset my pin..
Hi, I’m having the same issue.. I do have a secondary email for my Microsoft account but when I get the prompt to send code to my email it does not allow me to change the email to my secondary email.. there is no option for it. Only option is to just send code, and I do not ever receive the code. Am I screwed, will I have to reset my pc to factory setting?
Try logging into the Microsoft website by using another device.
This should let you add your secondary email address to future login options. It may take a few minutes to show up though.
I had this same problem and I found the best option for me was to use my phone to create a passkey (this option is available under the security settings) and this passkey let me finally log in to my computer.
I don't know if the passkey option is available to the rest of y'all but this did it.
Also to save you the time and trouble, resetting 'but keeping my files' DID NOT work, and this was something I discovered before stumbling upon this passkey option.
The passkey was my only real way in since dealing with my email or phone number just took me in loops.
I got my computer back!
