I updated to Windows 11. BIG MISTAKE! Now, My laptop battery is dead and won't charge. I see lots of people had problems with the battery not charging, but my battery is dead and so none of those work for me. Will MS pay for a new battery for me since they broke my laptop? Let ne jbiw uf tgere;s aything else I can do short of spending money I don't have on a new battery.

Reading all the comments from people who had this problem, Microsoft knew this was a problem and should have fixed it before releasing it to the public.

I can't believe this issue still isn't fixed. I've been having to be plugged in to do anything and if I make one false move everything is gone.

My battery diagnostic looked the same, and there is definitely something fishy because the battery capacity numbers you shared don't seem to show any kind of degradation:

PERIOD FULL CHARGE CAPACITY DESIGN CAPACITY
    2021-12-22 47,308 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2021-12-23 47,308 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2021-12-24 47,308 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2021-12-25 47,308 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2021-12-26 47,308 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2021-12-27 47,308 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2021-12-28 47,308 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2021-12-29 47,308 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2021-12-30 49,337 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2021-12-31 50,716 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2022-01-01 50,716 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2022-01-02 50,716 mWh 62,160 mWh
    2022-01-03 50,622 mWh 62,044 mWh

This is how mine looked and it stopped reporting charges after February (it's been 6 months now), and nothing about drivers or changing batteries seem to work.

Update all drivers BIOS anything. But do a fresh install using boot media from MS is my opinion. If you upgrade then that's where you crash and burn. Sometimes the OEMs update things unofficial is my perception. Juck FckDisk it but remember to make a bootable USB recovery thumb drive in advance. Sometimes all can be good that way. From my experience anyway. Good luck

    Hi,

My laptop updated without my input and windows11 has killed my 6yo work laptop. I NEED the info on this computer, but it won't charge or turn on. I don't have the funds to buy a new computer. How do I get this fixed? If this has been a known problem since 2022, why is it still an issue?

I had the same problem, and it was fixed by a force shutdown.
