Windows 11/Battery dead and not charging

I updated to Windows 11. BIG MISTAKE! Now, My laptop battery is dead and won't charge. I see lots of people had problems with the battery not charging, but my battery is dead and so none of those work for me. Will MS pay for a new battery for me since they broke my laptop? Let ne jbiw uf tgere;s aything else I can do short of spending money I don't have on a new battery.

Reading all the comments from people who had this problem, Microsoft knew this was a problem and should have fixed it before releasing it to the public.

    Hi Rebecca,

    Your suggestions seem to be related to making battery last longer. I don't see anything here about fixing the problem that the laptop stopped seeing the power adapter, or that it's not charging properly. As I said, since I performed the Windows 11 update, it barely charges and takes 18+ hours to get a partial charge when turned off. (at most, it charged 40% and then drained within an hour.)

    I have had the computer off and plugged in for the past 18 hours. It did not charge at all. It has less than 6% battery now, which was where it was when I signed off yesterday.

    I tried your suggestions -

    1. I selected to update the mother board driver. It said I have the most current driver.
    2. I attempted to change to "balanced mode." Since the power saver was on already it wouldn't allow me to change the settings. I also believe I optimized the power settings after I sent you the battery report yesterday.
    3. I did not have enough battery power to download the Acer epower management tool, which I don't think would help with the problem anyway, since that would not address the issue of the laptop not seeing the power adapter, and not charging properly. The laptop shut down before it could download.

    I am very upset with Microsoft. I cannot be without my laptop, and I have been without it for a week already. Now I will wait another 12-18 hours and see if the battery recovers at all. It will cost me hundreds of dollars to have this fixed, and I a unemployed. I needed this laptop to do my job search and ... This has not been helpful. :-(

    Hi

    Please forgive me for misunderstanding your question. As you said, your computer can enter the system after charging overnight. If you can enter the system, I suggest you

    1. Download the power management software of acer epower management.
    2. Update the motherboard driver.

    1. Change the power plan to balanced mode.

    We understand that we haven’t received any information about Acer’s update Windows 11 battery cannot be charged recently. You can try the above steps to troubleshoot. If it still does not solve your problem, we suggest you contact Acer after-sales service to see if you have the same problem.

    Rebecca,

    This is a KNOWN ISSUE with Windows 11. My Computer battery drained as a result of the upgrade, and it does not recognize the power cord. Now when I turn it on, it usually gives me a "Critical Low Battery" message and shuts down again. I have left it overnight and it partially has charged, but still does not recognize that it's plugged in.

    I have seen this same issue posted in other places on the Internet. I followed the suggestions of one site to go to Device Manager and delete the items listed under Battery, then shut down and restart. This has NOT fixed the problem.

    THe battery page you asked for is here. Again, it seems from a search of the internet that this is a COMMON PROBLEM with Windows 11 Upgrade. I have also tried to revert to Windows 10, but it won't let me since it doesn't recognize that it's plugged in. I am using a 2 year old Acer Laptop. The battery was fine a week ago.

    I am so upset of your experience.

    Your battery is damaged, it should be a hardware repair problem. Is your computer still within the warranty period? If you are within the warranty period, you can contact the manufacturer to return to the factory for repair.

    Hope your problem will be solved as soon as possible.

    As I indicated, the battery is dead and the laptop no longer powers on with the power cord. Hard to do a screen print with no power!

    I am unemployed, and in the middle of a job search. I no longer have access to my resume, and I don’t really have the money to buy a new battery or to have this repaired. This is a major problem for me right now. My laptop is useless.

    I will be warning people loudly not to do this so called upgrade.
