I updated to Windows 11. BIG MISTAKE! Now, My laptop battery is dead and won't charge. I see lots of people had problems with the battery not charging, but my battery is dead and so none of those work for me. Will MS pay for a new battery for me since they broke my laptop? Let ne jbiw uf tgere;s aything else I can do short of spending money I don't have on a new battery.
Reading all the comments from people who had this problem, Microsoft knew this was a problem and should have fixed it before releasing it to the public.

I ALSO HAVE A SIMILAR ISSUE. Battery charges till 75% only.
My battery was not working well so had bought a new one. So this new battery is charging only till 75% exact, every time.
Any idea what can I do?
Tried BIOS
Device manager disabling/uninstalling/updating Power-related things.
Dell Power Manager settings.
charge from BIOS if that works loke me it's Windows 11

Please stop blaming it on hardware as before upgrading it to Windows 11 ( while running on Windows 10) my Microsoft Surface laptop never had issue, after upgrading to Windows 11, battery completely dead and I cannot charge my laptop
Microsoft has to pay compensation to all affected users

We all can sue Microsoft as laptop is completely unusable and like others I am too loosing my work
Hi, thanks for your input I've a Rog Strix GL704V. I flashed the BIOS to 3.12 which was the latest release. The CMOS battery, mmm. Well I could try replacing it I suppose thanks fir the advice but my hunch is the CMOS battery is likely fine. Anyway if I boot into the BIOS away from the OS it will charge to 100 percent. All was cool with Windows 10 so I suspect it's an 11 issue of some kind. Anyway you try charging it from the BIOS before 11 gets bootstrapped and let me know if it will charge to full capacity. And thanks for your input.
Worth a try bud, but it appears my battery is short circuited probably or someway permanently damaged. Somehow the Windows update+BIOSv305 destroys it. So at least people should be aware that they need to upgrade BIOS to v306 first and then try the upgrade.
Meanwhile I managed to remove the battery, they pasted it using a double sided tape beneath the battery. That's why it didn't move a bit. I had to use multiple different leverage tools to slowly lift it up without damaging the motherboard which is directly connected to it.
I also tried updating the BIOS with battery removed, still got the same check battery error. So I ordered a third party 2200mAh compatible battery made elsewhere instead of the Original 3000mAh battery made in Japan. I will try that and post an update if it works.
For all the great effort in blowing up my battery and causing infinite frustration, let's give a kudos to Microsoft and Asus. First of all they knew there is issue and failed to rectify it at source which should be on MS, because if they force upgraded BIOS as part of Windows 11 upgrade or set BIOS requirements check, this wouldn't have happened. Next is Asus who is adamant and left no way to bypass battery check for BIOS upgrade in EZ Flash v3. They had the 'risky' keyword for EZ Flash v2 but it won't work in v3. This is a conspiracy to sell more batteries and obviously I am not giving a dime to them and they just lost a valuable customer. Thank God my other laptop is simply not eligible for the upgrade because of a processor that didn't meet the requirements.
