I updated to Windows 11. BIG MISTAKE! Now, My laptop battery is dead and won't charge. I see lots of people had problems with the battery not charging, but my battery is dead and so none of those work for me. Will MS pay for a new battery for me since they broke my laptop? Let ne jbiw uf tgere;s aything else I can do short of spending money I don't have on a new battery.
Reading all the comments from people who had this problem, Microsoft knew this was a problem and should have fixed it before releasing it to the public.

As I indicated, the battery is dead and the laptop no longer powers on with the power cord. Hard to do a screen print with no power!
I am unemployed, and in the middle of a job search. I no longer have access to my resume, and I don’t really have the money to buy a new battery or to have this repaired. This is a major problem for me right now. My laptop is useless.
I will be warning people loudly not to do this so called upgrade.
I have exactly the same problem with a Microsoft surface laptop. Never had a problem until I installed windows 11, it then stopped recognizing the charger and won't charge at all via the charger or usb-c. Won't revert back to Windows 10 because it says it's not plugged in even though it is. Tried the battery driver uninstall, tried restarts, nothing works. Killed a perfectly good laptop by updating to Windows 11.
I have exactly the same problem with my DELL laptop. I won't charge after the Wondiws 11 upgrade. The only way the solve it, is to shut down my laptop by holding the power button for at least 10 seconds. And then after powering up again, it starts charging again (sometimes I can a blue screen first, and then I have to repeat everything again).

Your suggestions seem to be related to making battery last longer. I don't see anything here about fixing the problem that the laptop stopped seeing the power adapter, or that it's not charging properly. As I said, since I performed the Windows 11 update, it barely charges and takes 18+ hours to get a partial charge when turned off. (at most, it charged 40% and then drained within an hour.)
I have had the computer off and plugged in for the past 18 hours. It did not charge at all. It has less than 6% battery now, which was where it was when I signed off yesterday.

I am very upset with Microsoft. I cannot be without my laptop, and I have been without it for a week already. Now I will wait another 12-18 hours and see if the battery recovers at all. It will cost me hundreds of dollars to have this fixed, and I a unemployed. I needed this laptop to do my job search and ... This has not been helpful. :-(
I have the same problem since I upgraded to Win11. I just finally upated about two days ago after weeks of saying no to the dialog box! I have a Asus Rog Strix 2 gaming and I am afraid of my computer going dead. I've heard of this issue before when the battery won't charge and the system board fails because of burn out. I can't even adjust the power setting as I used to do in windows10. This sucks!
