Slide Show in Windows 11

Is there a way to get the windows slides show back in W11? I used it all the time and its gone. I don't mean the lock screen one, that's no good. I have left it too late to revert to W10 regretfully

I was in the same position. I found this tutorial, and the necessary commands are in the comments sections.

It is very simple and takes File explorer back to the Windows 10 version.

    I couldn't find "Photo Legacy" in the Microsoft store, but I clicked on Search and searched for "Photo Legacy" and found "photo legacy download" which took me to a bing search and "Get Microsoft Photos Legacy from the Microsoft Store" came up. That brings up "Microsoft Photos Legacy" app (Photos plural). I downloaded and installed it, however, I don't see the "Slideshow" option when I'm in a FileExplorer window. How to I invoke the "Slideshow" to work from FileExplorer? Or do I have to view the images using the "Microsoft Photos Legacy" app only?

    It's a very easy fix.

    How to change the windows file explorer in Windows 11 to look like windows 10

    this was because when I upgraded to Windows 11, the slideshow option was no longer there

    run CMD as administrator

    to change to old style to have the slideshow option

    • Old File Explorer (Windows 10):

    reg.exe add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Blocked" /v "{e2bf9676-5f8f-435c-97eb-11607a5bedf7}" /t REG_SZ

    to restore to the new windows 11 view

    • New File Explorer (Windows 11):

    reg.exe delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Blocked" /f

    Hello MARTYNBROMLEY1, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

    Are you referring to Background Slideshow?

    Initially I recommend that you try the following;

    Access the Control Panel;

    Click System and Security;

    Click on Power Options;

    Click Change plan settings (On the right side of your chosen power plan);

    Click Change Advanced Power Settings;

    Click (+) Desktop Background Settings to expand the session;

    Click (+) Slideshow and change the option to Available;

    Click Apply;

    Now press Windows key + I and go to Personalization;

    Click on background and set up Slideshow again;

    After configuring, restart the PC and check if the slideshow works normally again;
