My mouse goes busy at a specific point on screen.

SO TIRED OF MICROSOFT AND THEIR ****!!!!

Killing Windows Explorer works for me. I just did all the latest updates today to fix other issues. I was worried when I read others saying an update fixed this stupid issue, because my issue was still ongoing after the update.

I decided update my kid's Lenovo laptop to Windows 11 before touching any of the other laptops in the house. She doesn't use her laptop. It's a good thing I decided to only do hers. Sooooo many problems! Her laptop is only about 2yrs old. Even more lucky for me that her high school gave all students chromebooks to use for their entire high school career. She started a business course, but it's more like a computer course than it is a business course for some reason. It turns out that she REALLY needs to use a computer. It would have been a real headache for me if she didn't have that chromebook! She was trying to upload 2 documents that she had for home and thought she was doing something wrong because it wasn't working, and she's not used to using computers. She was really frustrated. I thought that she was perhaps doing something wrong so decided to help her. She was using her Lenovo, which had just been updated to Windows 11 a few days prior. Sure enough, I couldn't upload the docs to her class either. I thought it maybe a browser issue with Win 11, so tried Chrome, Edge, Firefox. NONE WOULD UPLOAD THE DOCS! I told her to try it on her chromebook and it worked flawlessly. I wanted to roll back to Windows 10, but had just passed the 10 day mark. I WAS SO MAD!!!

Why should anybody have to go through this?! I am the one who helps family and friends with their computer problems. I have to tell the all NOT to update to Win11!!!

No doubt you're not alone in blaming Microsoft, Windows 11 was IMHO released far too early given the numerous bugs. I know only too well when I upgraded to Windows 10 I had much the same problem. That operating system installed the wrong audio drivers on my system and destroyed my speakers beyond repair.

As with any system upgrade it's always advisable to perform a full system backup so the user can revert back to the previous operating system should the need arise. Obviously that doesn't help you in your current situation but there is nothing to stop you from reinstalling Windows 10.

As for the other issues you mention, they're not something I could comment on without having witnessed it for myself. I'm certainly not aware of any issues relating to uploading files over the internet.

I doubt you would succeed filing a class action against Microsoft, they didn't force you to upgrade.

True, but that doesn't absolve them from making a 'useable' O/S before unleashing it on the world. I shutter when I think of my relatives and friends who are 'afraid' of the computer, and the headaches ahead. Re-installing Windows 10 because I 'decide' to have a fresh start is one thing, but having to re-install Win 10 because 'Win 11' sucks is another. It's my daughter's laptop. She wasn't really using it before, so there's not a lot of data to backup/restore. Still, it's not something I wanted to 'have to' do.

The 1st few hours trying to use it this morning were extremely trying. The mouse wouldn't go where I wanted it and would fly all over the screen. I tried to move very carefully but it wasn't cooperating. Was going to reboot because I couldn't get anything done. It cleared by itself though. Strange.

I hear your points, and appreciate your input though. At this point, I have some wonderful Linux O/S's on my laptops, and kids have both gotten chromebooks from their high schools for the next 4 years. I think, other than my and wife's work laptops, I will rid the house of all/most things Windows. May get MACs or chromebooks for the kids when they finish high school and start uni.

I will credit them on the update to speed up Win 11. It worked like a charm! Wow! Her laptop was slow like molasses going uphill on the coldest day because of Win 11. Applied the update yesterday and all I can say is "WOW!" Very nice!

It's good to vent, at least you're doing it in the right place. I think to be fair there will always be teething troubles with new operating systems, given the huge amount of variables in individual hardware setups Microsoft could never get it spot on every time, that's why they have the insider programme to test these things. Windows 11 like it's predecessor Windows 10 is still not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it's getting there slowly.

I did a clean install of Windows 11 and I have to say for a machine which isn't on the list of supported CPU's the install went very smoothly indeed. OK my system specs far exceed those imposed by Microsoft in order to run Windows 11 but I would have expected perhaps to discover some issues along the way. Like other W11 users I have found several bugs but most of these are like the issue mentioned in this thread and aren't anything serious. Might I ask if you ran the WindowsPCHealthCheckSetup tool prior to performing your upgrade?
