I have been using Windows since January 2021, but for last 1-2 months, I am facing a strange issue. Whenever I work on my laptop my mouse goes busy on a specific area on the screen. I am not able to figure out how to fix this. I resetted my pc, reinstalled mouse drivers but still I am facing this issue. But when I restart my laptop it gets fix but after some time it again happens. Could anyone help me to figure out way through this problem? I am on Windows 11 build 22000.348. I am in Windows Insider Beta Programme. Please

Your opening sentence "This has already been solved" means what then? Listen, I am not on here trying to make anyone look bad. We all want this issue resolved and that is where my focus will remain going forward. I am only interested in a solution and I think you are as well....😉

Sorry but we have to very careful with our choice of words for this situation. It is not "SOLVED". This bug needs to be fixed URGENTLY! This one glitch is impacting very negatively on my production. For something that was reported from early December 2021, Microsoft is certainly taking their time to have this addressed. WE ARE NOT AMUSED!!!🤬. This issue needs escalation and fast! We should not have to use work arounds to make your software work! It's garbage! Fix it now! UGH!!!
I wrote " There are 2 temporary fixes while Microsoft get their act together" I believe this means what it means.
After reading most of the posts and trying all the suggested temporary "fixes", I got fed up and did something that appears to stave of this annoyance permanently. i am not going to say that this "resolves" this issue. I did these simple changes yesterday and the issue has not surfaced. Even after playing Asphalt 8 for hours (this usually triggers the issue for me in the past.)
This is what I did:
- Click on the search icon in the task bar (thing that looks like a magnifying glass)
- Click on the three dots in the upper right of box that comes up (options)
- Click on search settings
- Turn Safe Search "OFF"
- Turn off "Work or School account"
That's it, no more annoying circle or having to reset Explorer.
Caveat: This is not a "FIX" for this problem and some persons may not like the idea of turning off these settings. So, that is totally your call. I truly hope the Microsoft people move their asses on this issue with a software patch that fixes it properly. This thing has been reported for months now and they don't seem to care.
Given that you say you tried this only yesterday I think it would be a little premature to say that the issue appears to be "staved off permanently". From what is written in these threads it seems people have varying experiences with this issue, from my own perspective this issue has only ever been an occasional annoyance and to be honest I haven't noticed it since I first posted in this thread on the 6th February this year. It could be that a recent update has already fixed the issue and what you're experiencing is just coincidence. I certainly don't believe 'Safe Search' or turning off 'Work or School account' has anything to do with this problem. What is certain is that the 'Search' pop-up menu in the taskbar is what causes the hidden active area. As someone else said; "it's as though the search pop-up doesn't always get drawn properly resulting in the hidden/invisible pop-up".
As I've mentioned several times above, according to one of the Microsoft insiders this issue has now been resolved so we can only sit and wait for the time being.

As I understand it this problem has at least been fixed on the Insider Builds so presumably we must all wait for it to become a general release in one of the next updates. As with all operating systems there are teething issues and yes, some of them are pretty frustrating but sadly that's how Microsoft likes to conduct itself. Windows users are all test engineers. In the scheme of things we should count ourselves lucky that a fix has been found on the insider release, if only the same could be said for Microsoft's rubbish 'Mail' program!! That's still riddled with bugs since the rollout of Windows 10 and these are now affecting Windows 11 too. Personally I'd like to see Microsoft spending more time fixing these kind of issues rather than inventing new and unnecessary features, take the new 'Stickers', soon to be rolled out, why on earth would any sane person want those?!!
