I2C HID Driver Touchpad Failure (I think I solved it)

If the touchpad on your laptop has failed. You're playing now you see it, now you don't wit TOUCHPAD in your settings. And no customer support can assist you from HP or MSFT, try this it just worked for me...

Go to DEVICE MANAGER

Expand HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICES

And you see 12C HID Device has an error.

If you click DRIVER and then UNINSTAL DEVICE the 12C HID Device is delisted, and on startup it magically refreshes.

I was hoping that would do it, but the TOUCHPAD was still inoperative, and the error persisted.

Then, on a wild thought. I repeated UNINSTAL on all of the HID-compliant Device tabs. My thought was the whole HID Device needed a reboot. As soon as they all delisted, I said a prayer and rebooted.

And my touchpad was finally restored!

I hope this helps others, as this was really frustrating.

Ps. In Touchpad settings (once you can access them again) it's also a good idea to tic LEAVE TOUCHPAD ON WHEN MOUSE IS CONNECTED.

    After trying close to 10 different things to fix a non responsive touchpad, this one finally worked.

    For those of you with the code 10 error for your trackpad. If by chance your trackpad stopped working after a program crashed. Try uninstalling that program as well as uninstalling the I2C HID as well. Reboot your computer and hopefully it works.

    Although I tried a lot of methods including yours, I still wasn't able to get my touchpad to work, tbh I still can't believe it is working. So What exactly I did was I shifted from Windows 11 to 10(Which was the factory window provided to me by Dell). After that, I stopped the automatic driver update from the control panel. And then I went to the device manager and disabled the I2C-Hid driver. After restarting my PC it worked.

    I am not a computer expert just a sales guy, but I was persistent for a solution and I found it. I am so happy right now it has been a year now that I've been using an external mouse. So happy.

    This really worked and did immediatly

    I tried it all with the visible HID devices

    If you need help with touchpad then this legend of a post and instructions is what you need

    but if you do the instructions and it does not work then i recomend you go to the view tab at the top left and select hidden devices. once you do that then follow the instructions and things should be working perfectly

    I tried everything and yet nothing was working. And I uninstalled my I2C HID device and restarted my laptop. Still there was no change and I can't see the device listed, even in hidden in devices. Then I decided to downloaded this driver from Google and searched for it. The first result was from microsoft, downloaded it, installed it and then restarted it, and everything is back to normal. So, yes, it was the way out, idk this time or everytime but this worked for me!
