@joshuazanola Does your account now work? Mine did just now.
"The username violates our guidelines"
I tried commenting on an article for the first time today. When i went to sign up and agree to the terms a window said in red letters "The username violates our guidelines"...
my username is my first and last name so I don't understand why I'm seeing this. There is no option to dispute on screen https://account.microsoft.com/profile?ocid=msedgntp

2022-02-12T19:56:01+00:00 The only other thing I can think of that I did was several days ago I "change" my name. (And it had a recaptcha) Perhaps that did something.

2022-02-13T02:47:26+00:00 This is also happening to me. I also was using my real name. I tried to change it to something else but it still won't let me post. Considering the original complaint about this issue was 25 days ago I guess Microsoft has no intention of fixing this issue or just doesn't care. What a shocker....and they wonder why people don't switch from Google....
I sincerely hope this isn't some kind of retaliatory action by pleebs that work at Microsoft against people who post conservative comments. The fact that it isn't fixed going on a month later really, really screams "woke tech" employees trying to stop free speech once again.
Microsoft: Fix this issue please
Issue happening to me too. Can't reply to any news comments. I can put my real name and still won't work. All it shows is blank name.
